Morocco

The flag of Morocco is made up of a red field, with an emerald green pentagram in the centre This pentagram is more commonly known as a five pointed star, but drawn in this fashion of being made up solely of lines, rather than a solid shape. The colour red has deep significance in the history of Morocco, being the colour of the Alaouite Dynasty, who ruled over Morocco for centuries. This colour also comes from the Sharifs of Mecca, an traditional Muslim leading group in the city of Mecca. In the words of the constitution The star shall be green, like the leaf of a palm, open and made up of five woven branches, implying that the choice of green was to represent the fertility and natural beauty of Morocco. The Moroccan flag is also world record breaking! On the 8th of May 2010, a flag of 60,409.78 square metres was unveiled in the city of Dakhla, making it the largest flag ever draped!
